US Singer D4vd Accused of Buying Tools Online to Dispose of Teen’s Body, Prosecutors Claim
US singer D4vd has been accused by prosecutors of ordering tools online, including chainsaws, in an alleged attempt to dispose of a teenage girl’s body after her death.
Details of the claims were revealed in a court filing that outlines the suspected motive and the steps authorities believe he took to hide evidence before the remains of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez were discovered inside his car.
According to prosecutors, the singer first met the victim when she was 11 years old and allegedly began abusing her when she was 13. Investigators claim the girl later sent messages threatening to expose their relationship and damage his career prior to her death.
D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has denied all allegations and entered a not guilty plea.
During a recent court appearance, he wore a Los Angeles County jail uniform and remained mostly silent, responding briefly when the judge confirmed his agreement to delay the preliminary hearing until late May.
In the newly released filing, prosecutors allege the teen was stabbed multiple times at his residence. Authorities say they tracked several online purchases made under a false identity in the days that followed, including chainsaws, a shovel, a body bag, and an inflatable pool. The filing also claims he obtained a burn cage and planned to destroy evidence.
The document further details prior contact between authorities and the singer, including the period when the teenager was reported missing in 2024. Investigators say messages exchanged on 22 April 2025 show a dispute over his relationships with other women, with the victim allegedly threatening to reveal damaging information.
Prosecutors believe the killing occurred the following day. They claim D4vd arranged transportation for the teen to his home and later sent messages asking about her whereabouts, which they allege were part of an attempt to mislead investigators.
The court filing also states that in the days after her death, he allegedly dismembered the body in his garage. Surveillance footage reportedly shows he was the last person seen driving his Tesla, where the remains were eventually found in September 2025.
Defense attorneys attempted to block the release of the document, arguing that widespread publicity could affect his right to a fair trial. However, Judge Charlaine Olmedo allowed its publication while keeping certain evidence sealed.
The case has drawn significant global attention since the singer’s arrest earlier this month in Los Angeles. Authorities have filed multiple charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and mutilation of remains.
The victim had been reported missing after she was last seen at the singer’s Hollywood Hills residence in April 2025. Her body was discovered months later in his vehicle.
Following the discovery, the family of the victim released a statement expressing their grief and calling for justice.
D4vd, who rose to fame through viral success on TikTok with songs like Romantic Homicide and Here With Me, had recently released his debut studio album before the allegations surfaced. His tour was cancelled, and he has largely withdrawn from public life since the investigation began.
Another court hearing is scheduled for next month as the case continues.
