Three people lost their lives and several others were injured after a devastating crash involving a juvenile driver in Oakland late Saturday night, according to local authorities.

The deadly incident reportedly occurred shortly before 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of International Boulevard and 85th Avenue. Emergency responders from the Oakland Fire Department rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a major collision involving pedestrians and multiple vehicles.

Officials confirmed that three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. At least three additional people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, with two reportedly listed in critical condition.

Witnesses at the scene reportedly intervened after the crash when the driver allegedly attempted to flee. Bystanders detained the suspect until police officers arrived and took control of the situation.

Both the suspected driver and another individual involved in the incident sustained minor injuries and were expected to receive medical treatment.

Authorities are also working to determine factors that may have contributed to the crash, including speed and possible reckless driving violations.

The tragic incident has shocked the local community and once again raised concerns over dangerous driving and pedestrian safety in busy urban areas across California.

Police have not yet released the identities of the victims pending notification of family members. Investigators are expected to provide additional updates as the case develops.
