A woman known as the “Ketamine Queen” has been sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry.

Jasveen Sangha, who prosecutors say ran a large-scale drug operation targeting high-profile clients, was found to have supplied the ketamine that contributed to Perry’s death in 2023.

The actor, best known for his role in the popular TV series “Friends,” was found unresponsive in his home. Medical reports later confirmed that ketamine played a major role in his death.

Sangha was charged alongside several others, but later agreed to plead guilty to multiple federal charges, including drug distribution.

Prosecutors described her operation as one driven by profit and access to elite circles, rather than necessity. They argued that she continued her activities despite the risks, even after people had died from drugs linked to her.

In court, the judge sentenced her to 15 years in prison, agreeing with prosecutors that a strong punishment was necessary.

The case has drawn widespread attention, not just because of Perry’s fame, but also because it highlights a growing effort by authorities to hold drug suppliers accountable when their products lead to deaths.

In recent years, similar cases involving high-profile overdose deaths have led to arrests and prosecutions of those accused of providing illegal substances.

Officials say this approach is meant to send a clear message — that those involved in the illegal drug trade will face serious consequences, especially when lives are lost.

For Perry’s family, the sentencing marks another step in a long and painful process, as they continue to cope with the loss of a loved one.

The case also serves as a reminder of the dangers of substance abuse and the impact it can have not just on individuals, but on families and communities as well.
