Global pop star Billie Eilish has collaborated with acclaimed filmmaker James Cameron to create a new 3D concert film centered around her performances in Manchester.

The project captures four nights of shows held at Co-op Live during her Hit Me Hard And Soft world tour, which stands as the largest tour of her career so far.

The film delivers an immersive visual experience while also highlighting the strong emotional bond between Eilish and her fans, many of whom are seen reacting passionately throughout the performances.

Speaking at the premiere in London, Eilish described Manchester crowds as some of her favorites, expressing deep appreciation for their energy and support.

The idea for the film reportedly came through a connection between Cameron’s wife and Eilish’s family. After reaching out with the concept, Cameron proposed creating a 3D version of her concert, something Eilish had not previously considered but quickly embraced.

Advanced filming techniques were used, including compact 3D cameras that allowed for close-up shots of the singer during high-energy moments on stage. Cameramen followed her movements closely as she moved rapidly across the stage during performances.

Cameron emphasized that the film is not just about the artist but also about the fans, who play a central role in the storytelling. Their reactions and personal stories highlight how Eilish’s music has impacted their lives, offering comfort and connection during difficult times.

The singer also made time to interact with fans at the premiere, taking photos, signing autographs, and even surprising them with additional appearances, reinforcing her reputation for staying closely connected to her audience.

Throughout the film, Eilish shares her perspective on being the kind of artist she would admire herself, even showing physical marks from fan interactions during live shows.

Cameron admitted he was personally excited to work with Eilish, describing himself as a fan, while she credited him for helping her view her performances from a cinematic perspective rather than just live shows.

The director also pointed out that while 3D concert films may not become the norm, they serve as a reminder of the importance of real, live performances in a time when artificial content is becoming more common.

The film also offers behind-the-scenes footage, including preparation routines, vocal warm-ups, and moments before stepping on stage, giving viewers a deeper look into Eilish’s performance process.

Eilish also reflected on a recent emotional moment with Justin Bieber at Coachella, describing it as deeply meaningful. The surprise moment, arranged by his wife Hailey Bieber, saw Bieber bring her on stage and perform for her, fulfilling a long-time dream.

The concert film, titled Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), is scheduled for release on 7 May 2026.
