A tragic accident in Texas has claimed the life of a one-year-old boy after he was unintentionally struck by a vehicle driven by a family member.

According to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon outside a home in Parker County. A relative had gone outside to reposition a vehicle due to an approaching storm.

Authorities stated that, unknown to the family, the toddler had left the house and moved close to the vehicle, placing himself in a blind spot.

As the vehicle moved forward, the child was accidentally hit.

Family members immediately attempted to save the child by performing CPR while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.

The toddler was later transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Azle, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials have not publicly identified the child or disclosed who was driving at the time of the incident.

It remains unclear whether any legal action will be taken, as investigations are ongoing.

Authorities described the event as a heartbreaking accident involving a young child and a family member.
